It’s not always about buying and selling houses here on homesforsaleintricities.com – sometimes I like to have some fun… or a beer… or fun and beer. Hence the forthcoming post.
Okay, here it goes. This list is a product of extensive research on my own part and a research team made up entirely of myself. Get your beers in Tri Cities here:
White Bluffs Brewing – This place makes me jealous of everyone living in Horn Rapids and North Richland, cause the beer served here is made right around the corner. The best craft beer brewed in the Tri Cities in my opinion. If you are into IPAs, the Bluffdiver is a must try. Another great beer there is the Beire de Garde, a French Farmhouse Ale. This is a tasty and drinkable beer that is very well balanced. As of this writing White Bluffs is expanding into a bigger facility. Wider distribution coming soon? I hope so.
Wook’s Craft and Cork – A taphouse with character. Enjoy some of the best local craft beers from Central Washington and Oregon here. Often times you’ll get beer here not sold on tap anywhere else in the Tri Cities. Last time I was there, I tried Wook’s Neck Nest IPA and I have to say it was phenomenal. Fill your growler here, or take some bottled selections to go.
Barley’s Brew Hub – The bar is hop-lover friendly with 50-ish beers on taps; the restaurant is family friendly with board games you can bring to your table and play while you wait for your food. I pretty much love this place. I almost always opt for a flight to try several beers and then pick my favorite for a pint. Often times they have some offerings from White Bluffs on tap too, so this Kennewick man need not drive all the way to Richland. They also do growler fills here. Bonus.
Growler Guys – Okay, so we move from bars and breweries into the “to-go” sector. Local craft brews and ciders. Come in. Have a couple taster shots. Get your growler filled. Go home. Enjoy. I cannot think of anything wrong with the last 5 sentences.
Mid-Columbia Wine and Spirits – More to-go offerings. Growler fills from about 20 taps of local and regional beers. All good. What stands out here is their walk-in beer cooler. You might need to bring a parka with you because you get a selection of about a zillion beers. European imports, local crafts, your bigger breweries like Sam Adams and Sierra Nevada, and other offerings from around the country and around the world. It’s like a beer mall. I may or may not have been found standing in the beer cooler with icicles on my beard being asked by one of the employee’s, “Are you still doing okay in here, sir?”
Shrub Steppe – Local beers and good BBQ! Inside you are literally sitting in the brewery. It smells like hoppy goodness and smokey BBQ, an excellent pairing indeed. Enjoy several brews made in house and some guest taps as well. On a nice day (or if for some reason you don’t like the smell of hops) you can eat and drink in a shaded courtyard.
Alright, so… the (un)official best places to get a beer in the Tri Cities. Which ones did I leave off the list? Where is your favorite?
